This year, we’re bringing the ISCAcon right to your doorstep! ISCAcon29: Mailbox Mayhem will be open to the public, and will have something for long-time attendees and newcomers alike. For the veteran member, a compact and condensed “home edition” of the con experience you know and love; for the non-member, a sampling of the creativity and camaraderie that ISCA has to offer. All for a single low price that was previously unobtainable for our in-person gatherings. We expect this will be one of the most unique and accessible ISCA events to date!
Mailbox Mayhem is an interactive multimedia event taking place on Discord Nov. 15-20, 2020. Registrants will receive a limited edition mail-order box that will contain a special comic book edition of Exaggerated Features, a con T-shirt designed by Kev Jackson, an enamel pin, art supplies, and a few other mystery goodies and con swag staples. The event itself will be host to world-class speakers, unique prerecorded and livestreamed video content, a Virtual Ballroom, contests, competitions, activities, awards, our annual ISCA Auction and more!
As mentioned above, we will be making this event open to the public! Members will have preorder access for the first two weeks, will be invited to one-on-one Q&A sessions with our guest speakers, and will be able to submit work for competitions (TBA).
Registering is simple! You have two options - For $55 you get the box mailed to your doorstep and access to the full week of events - no strings attached! If you’re a non-member, a current member due for renewal, or you just want to tag on an extra year at a discounted rate - you can get the box and a 1-year membership for a total of $120 - that’s $30 off a standard membership! Keep an eye out as we announce more details in the coming weeks. We’re excited about all that we’ve been cooking up and even more excited to see everyone this November!

Where is this taking place? What is Discord?
All from the comfort of your home! This virtual con will consist of a box of goodies mailed right to your front door as well as a mix of live and pre-recorded virtual content, accessible from anywhere. Registrants will receive a unique, single-use link to our private Discord server, which they will have access to for the duration of the event.
Discord is an app for desktop, phones, and tablets, though a download is not mandatory - our Discord server can be accessed in a browser window.
It will allow us to simulate the vibe of the in person con by allowing us to host events, speakers, and various virtual rooms that serve different purposes. It is private, self-contained, and accessible by invite only.
Do I have to be present at every live event?
You do not need to be present the entire week to partake in the experience. We’ll be posting recordings of talks and workshops for you to enjoy as bingeable content any time!
When will the boxes ship? Wednesday, November 4th (date is subject to change)
I live outside of the U.S. - can I still receive a box?
Yes! International shipping fees apply. $30 to Canada, $50 elsewhere outside of the US.
Do I have to be an ISCA member to participate in MM?
No! Anyone can sign up to be a part of this experience! However, only ISCA Members will be able to compete and display artwork in their own virtual wall spaces. Members will also be able to partake in live Q&A's with our speakers.
Will there be competitions?
Yes! The competitions won’t look quite like they do at normal ISCAcons. Sadly, there will be no Noseys.
How does voting work?
We will use the same virtual voting form that we introduced in 2019.
