NCN Announces 2008 Award Winners

Raleigh, NC-- November, 2008 -- 180 artists in the National Caricaturist Network competed for the prestigious Golden Nosey award at the 17th annual convention in Raleigh, North Carolina, November 2nd -November 7th, 2008. The convention attracted over 200 attendees representing 10 countries, ranging from professional artists to caricature enthusiasts. They flooded the ballroom of the Brownstone Holiday Inn near the campus of North Carolina State University.

Artists at the convention displayed their skills as they competed for the Caricaturist of the Year award (a gold statuette known as the Golden Nosey), as well as competing in a variety of specialized categories such as best likeness, best portfolio, best color technique, and Caricature of the Year. All competitions are judged not by a panel, but by the vote of attending members. For Caricaturist of the Year and Caricature of the Year, the top ten artists are honored. These prestigious awards are highly regarded in the caricature community, and recognize world-renowned artists. The following 2008 awards were presented at the annual Awards Banquet:
