I have been drawing caricatures professionally, both live and studio, since 1950. My first free-lance assignment after art school was doing caricatures of authors for the Book Review section of the Philadelphia Inquirer. Later, I was doing theatrical caricatures for the Entertainment section of the late Philadelphia Sunday Bulletin, sometimes covering Broadway as well as local plays, concerts, TV, elections, Olympics, etc.
My home and studio are in a suburb of Philadelphia, but I regularly tour the Midwest, New England and the Southern states; otherwise, I often work day-trips and overnights to New York, New England, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland and D.C.
My approach to drawing at events is that I am there to help people have a good time, so I have adopted this slogan: "I do not draw zits, braces, double chins or wrinkles." I often take years and pounds off of people (who can afford it!). My drawings average five minutes apiece.
